5 Ideas for Father’s Day Gifts

5 Ideas for Father’s Day GiftsLet’s celebrate the upcoming Father’s Day with 5 great gift ideas!  We are just 2 weeks away from Father’s Day on June 19, 2016.  While our mother got the beautiful flowers and breakfast in bed, the Dads among us deserve kudos for their contributions to our family.

1. Family time

Father enjoys having his extended family together.  So organizing a meal with your siblings, spouse and grand children will certainly be a best gift to the head of family.  The older grand children could facilitate some family games to keep everyone entertained.

2. A game of bocce ball or croquet

An easy going game of bocce ball or croquet works for all ages with minimum strength and skill.  You can rent a bocce ball court in Campo Di Bocce at Los Gatos or Morgan Hill Bowl.  Or you can buy your own croquet set to play in your own back yard or park.  Croquet is a sport that involves hitting plastic or wooden balls with a mallet through hoops embedded in a grass playing court.  These games are perfect for family gathering to allow a bit of fun and hang out with each other.

3. Watching his favorite televised game together

If your dad likes cricket, there are 2 games on June 18 (Ireland vs Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe vs India) and Australia vs South Africa on June 19.  For golf enthusiast, USGA US Open is ending on June 19!

4. Lower the golf scores

While your dad watches USGA US Open, he might be motivated to lower his scores on the golf course.  Consider gets him golf swing analyzer for example SwingTIP or other accessories for his golf game.

5. Easy the muscle pain

If your elderly dad needs to ease neck or shoulder ache, get a heating pad that makes him feel better.  Some pads are designed to warm up in the microwave while others are plug-in with temperature control.

While you are planning the celebration with your father, your father may be travelling to US to spend the summer holiday with you.  On these flights, your dad could make a huge difference to other elderly parents who are no longer so agile.  He can be a senior travel companion for other elders and help them to have a pleasant travel experience.  Or if your father needs some assistance, you can hire a travel companion on TripCompanion.
