Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE FRANKFURT

Arrive at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Transfer to Baden-Baden (110 miles, about 1:45 hours).

Baden-Baden is a famous ancient thermal springs spa town with many historic buildings.  It is located in the renowned Black Forest.

Baden-Baden Orientation Tour: Casino Baden-Baden Spielbank, Stiftskirche Baden-Baden, Lichtentaler Allee, Hohenbaden Castle, Black Forest High Road, Mummelsee and Weingut Schloss Neuweier.

DAY 2: BLACK FOREST TOUR

Black Forest Tour: Visit interesting villages such as Baiersbronn, Freudenstadt and Alpirsbach in the northern region of the Black Forest. Enjoy scenic views of the forest, lakes, waterfalls, monasteries and market squares.

DAY 3: LAKE TITISEE, STRASBOURG GOURMET FOOD WALKING TOUR

Lake Titisee Excursion: Drive to Titisee, the glacial lake nestled in the heart of the Black Forest. Enroute we stop at Vogtsbauernhof (Black Forest Open Air Museum). Then a brief stop at the Hofgut Sternen shop for the fascinating world of cuckoo clocks.

Guided Strasbourg Gourmet Food Walking Tour with Local Cheese and Wine: We cross the Rhine River to Strasbourg in France. Explore local streets and Strasbourg Market on a walking tour of the city to discover it’s rich culinary heritage and sample a tasty array of cheeses, pretzels, gingerbread, and regional wines.

Return to Baden-Baden for the night.

DAY 4: WALKING TOUR OF OLD TOWN HEIDELBERG, FRANKFURT

Hotel check-out and drive to Heidelberg. Heidelberg is a beautiful historic city in southwest Germany, located on the banks of the Neckar River. Its old town is still the Baroque style of the 18th century when Heidelberg was a renowned center of culture and science.

Walking tour of the Old Town of Heidelberg: Explore Altstadt (Old Town), University Library (Universitatsbibliothek), Schloss Heidelberg, Market Square (Marktplatz), Old Bridge (Karl Theodor Bridge), Philosopher’s Walk, Town Hall (Rathaus) and Jesuitenkirche (a beautiful Catholic church).

Drive to Frankfurt and hotel check-in.

DAY 5: FRANKFURT ORIENTATION TOUR

The morning is free.

Frankfurt is a vibrant financial and cultural center featuring modern skyscrapers that contrast with the historic buildings in the old town. You can taste local specialties such as Frankfurter sausages, Grüne Soße (green sauce), Handkäse mit Musik (cheese with onions and vinegar) and Apfelwein (apple wine).

Afternoon Frankfurt Orientation Tour (3 Hours)

Explore Frankfurt Cathedral, Old Nicholas Church (Alte Nikolaikirche), Romerberg, Iron Footbridge, Bull and Bear, Old Jewish Cemetery, New Old Town, Goethe House and Haus Wertheym.
