Beautiful Architecture of Punakha Dzong fortress

Punakha Dzong is located in Punakha, the winter capital of Bhutan. At an elevation of 3,900 ft, it is not too high and a good starting point for beginner hikers.
Dzong architecture is a distinctive type of fortress architecture found mainly in Bhutan and the former Tibet. This architecture is massive in style with towering exterior walls surrounding a complex of courtyards, temples, administrative offices and monks’ accommodations.
