Madrid is the elegant capital of Spain. Let’s discover this classic royal city’s rich history, traditional culture, and top attractions. Madrid is a paradise for foodies, serving dishes from many regions of Spain and beyond.

DAY 2: MADRID
This morning you join the Madrid City Walking Tour including Royal Palace (2 hours @10am). On this guided tour we explore Madrid’s oldest quarters, grand palaces, narrow medieval streets and traditional shops.
Continue to the Plaza de Oriente which leads to the Royal Palace – enjoy our skip-the-line entry to the palace and take a guided tour of the largest royal residence in Europe.

DAY 3: MADRID PERSONALIZED EXCURSION DAY
After breakfast, join one of the following options included in this tour.
OPTION 1: TOLEDO WALKING TOUR (5 hours @8:45am)
Toledo is known for its combination of Christian, Muslim and Jewish influences. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is surrounded by medieval walls and ancient towers.
See the World Heritage-listed 13th-century Cathedral of Toledo. Admire masterpieces by El Greco, including The Burial of the Count of Orgaz in the church of St. Tome. Enjoy a guided walking tour through Toledo’s atmospheric cobblestone backstreets. (Note: Visit the Cathedral of Toledo is available only on the morning tour).
OPTION 2: MADRID TAPAS AND WINE TASTING TOUR (group, 3 hours @12:30pm)
Discover Madrid’s tapas scene in a small group tour with a local guide.
Visit several much-loved tapas bars, and enjoy a drink and a tapas dish in each. Sample classic Spanish dishes like Ibérico ham and salted cod. Learn about Spanish cuisine in Madrid as you stroll the Literary Quarter.

DAY 4: MADRID – BARCELONA, FLAMENO SHOW
Take the train from Madrid train station to Barcelona.
Barcelona offers a colorful urban quarter, stunning architecture (iconic landmarks like Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and the historic Gothic Quarter), charming plazas and mouthwatering cuisine.

Today, you take a self-guided tour to explore Barcelona’s top attractions.

Visit Parc Guell in upper Barcelona and enjoy beautiful views out over the city. This is Gaudí’s surrealistic park where nature and art blend harmoniously featuring colorful mosaics, twisted columns, dragon fountains and amazing views.
See Barcelona Cathedral, Casa Batllo and many other famous attractions.

DAY 6: BARCELONA PERSONALIZED EXCURSION DAY

Visit Montserrat Basilica located on Montserrat mountain 4,055 ft above sea level. It offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The basilica is dramatically set into the rocks with famous attractions like the Black Madonna and Santa Cova grotto.
