DAY 1: VIENNA
Arrive at Vienna Airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Vienna, the capital of Austria, is a city rich in history, culture, and art. You will see the Gothic Cathedral and Schönbrunn Palace (a former imperial summer residence with stunning gardens and opulent rooms). Vienna was the home of great composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. Don’t forget to relax in a Viennese coffee house, enjoy traditional Viennese coffee and pastries; also sample Wiener Schnitzel and Sachertorte.

DAY 2: VIENNA | SCHÖNBRUNN PALACE & GARDENS, CHRISTMAS MARKET
This morning you will join the Schönbrunn Palace & Gardens Skip-the-Line Tour (group, 2 hours @10:30am).
On this guided tour we explore Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace and its marvelous royal gardens. Discover the history of the palace and hear entertaining stories from a licensed guide. Marvel at the 120 foot long Great Gallery and the Hall of Ceremonies. Get a peek into the life of the royal Habsburg family and Empress Sissi. On this tour you’ll skip long entrance lines and enjoy more time to explore the lush green gardens.
Next, we explore Christmas Markets Tour (group, 2 hours @5pm).
Hear about Vienna’s Christmas traditions and culture from your tour guide. Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of 4 Christmas Markets in Vienna. Head off the beaten track to discover Vienna’s hidden gems and lively districts. Taste delicious hot punch with extra rum, and a traditional Christmas treat.

DAY 3: CHOCOLATE WORKSHOP, THE VIENNESE CHRSTMAS TREE TRAIL
Participate in a Chocolate Workshop in the Chocolate Museum with tasting (group, 1.5 hours @10:30am). At the workshop, you will create and decorate three unique chocolate bars. Learn to use a professional chocolate tempering machine and feel like a pro. Create and Taste the original “Xocolate”, hot chocolate by the Aztecs recipe. Visit the interactive chocolate museum to learn about the origins of cacao. Get a signed certificate from Bo-Yo Chocolate Museum upon workshop completion.
Walk on the historic trail of Viennese Christmas Trees on a guided tour (group, 2 hours @6pm). Learn about the tradition of the Christmas tree in Vienna by walking from palace to markets in the beautifully illuminated city center in the serene Advent atmosphere (the period of preparation for Christmas celebration). Learn all about the Advent season and about how the Christmas tree came to Vienna. Enjoy the fascinating history and architecture during your guided walking tour.

DAY 4: VIENNA – SALZBURG | MOZART CONCERT AND DINNER AT HOHENSALZBURG FORTRESS
Transfer from the hotel to Vienna train station and take the train to Salzburg (standard class), then transfer to the hotel.
Salzburg was Mozart’s birthplace and also the location of the iconic movie “The Sound of Music”. The city has a historic fortress, cathedral and a charming old town by the Salzach river. Taste Nockerl (a local dessert) and visit a beer garden.
Enjoy the Best of Mozart Fortress Concert and dinner (group, 3.5 hours @6pm). Experience a romantic evening of classical music with a 3-course meal. Listen to a concert of Mozart’s renowned masterpieces and lesser-known gems. Enjoy the atmosphere of the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the views of Salzburg.
Hear the works of Mozart interpreted by internationally renowned soloists. Ride the funicular railway to Hohensalzburg Fortress (included).

DAY 5: SALZBURG WALKING TOUR
This morning, we join the Salzburg Walking Tour with Mozart, Old Town & More (group, 2.5 hours @9am). Learn about the very unique history and culture of Salzburg and its fascinating sights. Visit one or two Salzburg churches, Getreidegasse (a charming shopping street with historic buildings), historic squares and more.

DAY 6: SALZBURG PERSONALIZED EXCURSION DAY
After breakfast, join one of the following options included in this tour.
OPTION 1: Original Sound of Music Tour (group, 4 hours @9:15am). Visit the locations used in the filming of “The Sound of Music”. Hear songs from the original movie soundtrack. Discover historical and architectural landmarks of Salzburg.
OPTION 2: Half-Day Tour to Hallstatt (group, 5.5 hours @8:15am). Travel through the famous Salzkammergut, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Hallstatt, one of the most famous towns in Europe. Enjoy a leisurely lakeside walk and see houses clinging onto the mountainside. Visit the Bone House (one of the few remaining ossuaries in Europe open to the public) and gain an insight into historical practices and local customs.

DAY 7: END OF TOUR
Check-out after breakfast and transfer to Salzburg Airport (SZG) for your flight home to the USA or Canada.
