Waterfalls are abundant throughout Laos. However, no trip to this country is complete without seeing some of these spectacular streams of water falling over steep cliffs. Some of these waterfalls double as swimming pools but be sure to respect local culture and dress appropriately when visiting certain sites.

    Luang Prabang | Luang Prabang City Tour

    Welcome to Laos! Your driver will meet you at Luang Prabang International airport.  We start our afternoon tour with temple (wat) visits including Wat Visoun, Wat Aham and Wat Mai followed by an evening in the Night Market. In between the two, we will take a gentle 300 step walk up to Mount Phousi, for Luang Prabang’s highest hill for a spectacular view.

    Luang Prabang | Pak Ou Cave, Kuang Si Falls

    We start today early to participate in the daily morning Alms ritual, a daily ritual where locals offer food to the monks in return for their blessings. Then visit Phosi Market.
    After breakfast, visit the city’s oldest temple Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong which represents classical Laotian architecture. Then cruise upstream on the Mekong River with a visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. We will visit rice wine making and hand weaving artisans. In Laos, rivers equal life. We will explore and see the many tribes settled along these rivers followed by a visit to Kuang Si Falls in the afternoon.

    Luang Prabang | Xiangkhouang Province

    Today we visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace. Explore the richness of Lao culture, from the days of the early kings right through to the last sovereign. We then head for Xiengkhouang in the afternoon where we will see the ancient capital Muang Khoun and its nearby villages.

    Xiengkhouang - Vientiane | Plain of Jars, Morning Market, Weaving Village

    Visit the Plain of Jars, it is one of Southeast Asia's most mysterious and misunderstood prehistoric places, comparable to Easter Island or Stonehenge. Then we will take a short flight to Vientiane. Vientiane is considered one of the most laid-back capitals in the world. This former French trading post offers unique charms.
    In fact, these old French villas are now stylish restaurants or small hotels. The city is packed with glittering temples, wandering Buddhist monks, river serpent statues, and boulevards lined with frangipani and tamarind trees. Visit the Morning Market and the weaving village of Ban Nong Bouathong.

    Vientiane | City Tour

    Today’s city tour includes Wat Si Saket (the oldest temple in Vietiane) with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, religious museum of Wat Prakeo (Haw Phra Kaew or Emerald Buddha temple). The golden elegant Pha That Luang Stupa is the most important national monument in Laos, its foundation dates back to the 3rd century.  Gallic style Patuxay Monument (Victory Gate) is Laos’ own Arc de Triumph with a Laotian twist.
    In the afternoon, take a 45-minute drive to visit Buddha Park on the banks of the Mekong River.
